Madonna, BTS and Shakira to perform at 2026 World Cup final halftime show
Coldplay's Chris Martin teamed up with "Sesame Street" to reveal the performers.
The FIFA World Cup final will feature a halftime show for the first time this summer, Global Citizen announced early Thursday.
Madonna will co-headline alongside Korean band BTS and Shakira for the halftime show taking place at MetLife Stadium, known during the 2026 World Cup as New York New Jersey Stadium.
The final will take place at the stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, on July 19.

Coldplay singer Chris Martin teamed up with children's TV program "Sesame Street" to reveal the halftime show's superstar lineup. Martin appeared in a video clip with the Sesame Street Muppets, including Elmo and Cookie Monster, for the big reveal.
The halftime show will be curated by Martin and produced by Global Citizen, the global movement dedicated to ending poverty.
The show will raise money for the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, which provides access to education and soccer to children around the world.
The FIFA World Cup kicks off June 11 and the final is scheduled to begin on July 19 at 3 p.m. ET.
Broadcast information for the final's halftime show has not yet been announced.
