Princess Lilibet is celebrating a milestone birthday.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's daughter turns 5 on Thursday, June 4.

Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor was born on June 4, 2021, at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital in Santa Barbara, California.

Her name honors both her great-grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, whose family nickname was "Lilibet," and her late grandmother, Princess Diana.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex announced Lilibet's birth two days later through their Archewell website, writing at the time that both mother and baby were healthy and settling in at home.

Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, posted the photo to her Instagram of Lilibet and Harry on International Women’s Day on March 8, 2026.

Lilibet made royal history as the first child of a senior British royal born in the United States. She is the younger sibling of Prince Archie, who turned 7 in May.

Harry and Meghan, who stepped back from their roles as senior working royals in 2020, have largely kept their children out of the public eye. However, the couple has occasionally shared glimpses of family life in California.

Last year, the family celebrated Lilibet's fourth birthday with a trip to Disneyland. Meghan later shared photos from the outing, including images of the family enjoying attractions and meeting Disney characters.

In recent years, Meghan has also posted rare photos of Lilibet on special occasions, including her birthday and family milestones.

Lilibet's birthday comes just weeks after Harry and Meghan marked their eighth wedding anniversary and after the family celebrated Archie's seventh birthday in May.
