Lebanon and Israel will hold a meeting on Tuesday at the U.S. State Department "to discuss the announcement of a ceasefire and the start date of negotiations between Lebanon and Israel under the auspices of the United States," according to the office of the Lebanese presidency.
This comes after the Lebanese and Israeli ambassadors to the U.S. spoke on the phone Friday as part of the framework for talks aimed at ending hostilities between the two countries. The U.S. ambassador to Lebanon, Michel Issa, who is currently in Washington, D.C., was also on the call.
