As Iran retaliates, largest US military base in Middle East hit by ballistic missile, Qatar says

No one was injured, according to the Qatari Ministry of Defense.

President Donald Trump announced "major combat operations" against Iran on Saturday, with daytime strikes in the joint U.S.-Israel attack targeting military and government sites, officials said.

On Sunday, Iranian state television confirmed that Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was among those killed by airstrikes in Tehran on Saturday.

Iran is responding to the U.S.-Israeli operation with missile and drone attacks targeting Israel, regional U.S. bases and Gulf nations. American diplomatic facilities have also been attacked.

In Lebanon, Israel is intensifying its long-running strike campaign against the Iranian-aligned Hezbollah militia.

Over 70 drones and missile attacks reported in Erbil: Iraqi FM

More than 70 missile and drone attacks on the Iraqi city of Erbil have been reported in recent days, Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein said Monday.

Iraq has become a "victim of this war," Hussein said he told the United Arab Emirates foreign minister in a phone call after the reported strikes, noting that different parties to the conflict were carrying out attacks on Iraqi territory.

The strikes targeted Erbil International Airport and the nearby Harir Air Base, according to a statement from the Islamic Resistance in Iraq.

More than half of Americans oppose Trump ordering strikes on Iran: Polls

A CNN poll conducted after the U.S. and Israel launched strikes on Iran on Saturday and Sunday found that 56% of Americans feel a “long-term military conflict between the U.S. and Iran” is very or somewhat likely. The poll found that 59% of Americans disapproved of the U.S. decision to take military action in Iran.

A poll conducted by the Washington Post Sunday found that 52% of Americans opposed President Donald Trump ordering airstrikes on Iran, while 39% of Americans supported it and 9% were unsure.

Among Republicans, 81% supported Trump ordering strikes while 12% opposed them, according to the Washington Post poll. Among Democrats, 9% supported strikes while 87% opposed them. A 59% majority of independents opposed the strikes while 28% supported them.

State Department advises Americans in Iran to leave now by land

In a security alert released Monday, the State Department advised Americans in Iran to shelter in place, but also said, “if safe to do so, Americans should leave Iran now by land.”

"Be aware the Iranian government may restrict or prevent departures from Iran. U.S.-Iranian dual nationals must exit Iran on Iranian passports,” the alert said.

US uses strategic bombers for 2nd night in a row

U.S. Central Command said on social media that B-1 bombers "struck deep inside Iran to degrade Iranian ballistic missile capabilities” on Sunday night. This follows the use of B-2 stealth bombers on Saturday night.
