At least 40 killed in Lebanon by Israeli strikes, health ministry says
At least 40 people have been killed and 246 others have been injured in Lebanon by Israeli strikes over the last 48 hours, the Lebanese Ministry of Public Health said Tuesday.
No one was injured, according to the Qatari Ministry of Defense.
President Donald Trump announced "major combat operations" against Iran on Saturday, with daytime strikes in the joint U.S.-Israel attack targeting military and government sites, officials said.
On Sunday, Iranian state television confirmed that Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was among those killed by airstrikes in Tehran on Saturday.
Iran is responding to the U.S.-Israeli operation with missile and drone attacks targeting Israel, regional U.S. bases and Gulf nations. American diplomatic facilities have also been attacked.
In Lebanon, Israel is intensifying its long-running strike campaign against the Iranian-aligned Hezbollah militia.

The State Department is warning of an “imminent” threat of missile and drone attacks over Dhahran in Saudi Arabia.
U.S. Consulate personnel are sheltering in place, the alert said, and all Americans in Dhahran are urged to shelter in place, too.

The U.S. Embassy in Kuwait was "targeted" by Iran, Kuwait's Foreign Ministry said Tuesday in a post to X.
The ministry said it "expresses the state of Kuwait's rejection and condemnation in the strongest terms of the treacherous Iranian attack."
