'Progress was made' in talks with Oman over Strait of Hormuz traffic, Iran says
Talks between Oman and Iran were "fruitful and some progress was made" during the Omani diplomatic delegation's visit to Tehran on Friday and Saturday, according to Iran Foreign Ministry Spokesman Esmail Baqhaei.
"The two sides exchanged views on common principles and operational mechanisms for managing safe shipping traffic in the Strait of Hormuz while respecting the sovereign rights of the two coastal states," Baghaei said Sunday.
"The Omani delegation left Tehran on Saturday evening, but technical and political consultations between the two sides are continuing," he added.
