Trump 2nd term updates: Trump excludes low-value shipments from looming tariffs

The controversial influencers landed in Florida earlier Thursday, after court restrictions prohibiting them from leaving Romania while awaiting trial on allegations of human trafficking, sexual abuse and money laundering were lifted. Their departure follows reports that Trump administration officials had lobbied Romania to lift a travel ban on them.

"I know nothing about that," Trump said after being asked if his administration was involved in their release. He added: "We'll check it out and let you know."

The prime minister presented Trump with a letter from King Charles during a photo op at the White House.

Charles invited Trump to a state visit in the letter according to Starmer.

Trump read the letter to himself, accepted the invitation and called him "a beautiful man, a wonderful man."

Michigan Sen. Elissa Slotkin will deliver the Democratic response following Trump's address to Congress next week, party leaders announced Thursday.

"The public expects leaders to level with them on what’s actually happening in our country. From our economic security to our national security, we’ve got to chart a way forward that actually improves people’s lives in the country we all love, and I’m looking forward to laying that out," Slotkin, a freshman senator, said in a statement.

New York Rep. Adriano Espaillat will deliver the Spanish language response to the speech.

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer has arrived at the White House for a bilateral meeting with Trump and later a news conference.

As they shook hands, reporters asked Trump how confident he was that he can get a peace deal done in Ukraine.

"We can. We will. Thank you," Trump said.
