Trump says Vance 'most likely' successor to lead MAGA but 'too early' to discuss

Trump was asked Tuesday if Vice President JD Vance is the heir apparent to the MAGA movement in 2028.

"I think most likely, in all fairness, he's the vice president," Trump responded. "And I think Marco [Rubio] is also somebody that maybe would get together with JD in some form. I also think we have incredible people, some of the people on the stage right here. So it's too early, obviously, to talk about it, but certainly he's doing a great job."

Also present for Tuesday's signing was Olympic gymnast Nastia Liukin, Paralympian swimmer Brad Snyder and chairman of the U.S. Olympic Committee Gene Sykes.

Trump thanked Sykes for changing the committee's policy to bar transgender women from being eligible to compete for the United States in the Olympic or Paralympic Games in women's categories.

"The United States will not let men steal trophies from women at the 2028 Olympics. So, we appreciate the fairness and everything else that you've shown," Trump said.
