President Donald Trump announced that he ordered federal troops to Portland, Oregon, due to what he alleged were threats from domestic terrorists.

Portland Mayor Keith Wilson, however, chastized the president and stressed that city leaders did not make any request to Washington.

A few hours later, at 4 p.m. ET, President Donald Trump is scheduled to make an announcement related to children's health, according to the White House.

An official told ABC News the president will announce "historic progress" on his pledge "to address America's rising rate of autism."
