Trump admin updates: Trump says Venezuelan airspace should be 'closed in its entirety'

A spokesperson for the Vice President JD Vance's office says that Vance and Army Secretary Dan Driscoll will meet privately at Fort Campbell on Wednesday afternoon, before Vance serves food to the troops for Thanksgiving. Driscoll will not participate in any of the public portions of Vance's visit to Kentucky.

Driscoll has been working on negotiations for the administration's Russia-Ukraine peace proposal. Driscoll held secret talks on Monday with a Russian delegation in Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates to follow up on this weekend's talks with Ukraine in Geneva that were intended to move the peace process forward, a U.S. official told ABC News.

President Donald Trump said on Tuesday that he's directed Driscoll to meet with the Ukrainians and White House special envoy Steve Witkoff to meet with Russia's Vladimir Putin in Moscow.

The Supreme Court on Wednesday declined to act on President Donald Trump's request to greenlight his immediate removal of the director of the U.S. Copyright Office and Register of Copyrights at the Library of Congress, Shira Perlmutter.

The Supreme Court said it was deferring a decision until after it hears arguments in a pair of cases involving presidential firing power -- Trump v. Slaughter, involving members of independent agencies like the FTC, and Trump v. Cook, involving governors of the Federal Reserve.

The move came over the lone dissent of Justice Clarence Thomas, who indicated that he would have allowed Trump to remove Perlmutter effective immediately, even as litigation proceeds.

The dispute centers on the unique status of the Library of Congress -- inside which the U.S. Copyright Office resides -- which was created by lawmakers and exercises functions not solely within the purview of the executive branch and executive power.

Attorneys for Perlmutter say she was improperly terminated by acting Librarian of Congress (and also deputy Attorney General) Todd Blanche because he was not properly installed under federal law.

President Donald Trump is lashing out at the New York Times for its story analyzing how Trump hosts fewer events now than he did in his first term, takes fewer domestic trips and starts most of his events later in the day.

The Times explicitly called out Trump's Nov. 6 Oval Office event for the administration's announcement with Novo Nordisk and Eli Lilly about lowering the cost of GLP-1 drugs. During the event, it appeared Trump was fighting to stay awake and dozed off for a bit during the event. The Times also mentioned recent bruising on his hand and swollen ankles.

Trump pushed back on the article in a lengthy social media post, saying all he does as president "requires a lot of Work and Energy."

"I have never worked so hard in my life," Trump added.

Trump insulted one of the reporters on the byline, calling her a "third rate reporter who is ugly, both inside and out."

But Trump did acknowledge in his post that there will be a day when he runs low on energy, adding that it happens to everyone, but it's not happening today.

"There will be a day when I run low on Energy, it happens to everyone, but with a PERFECT PHYSICAL EXAM AND A COMPREHENSIVE COGNITIVE TEST ('That was aced') JUST RECENTLY TAKEN, it certainly is not now!," Trump wrote.

Asked whether he’s looking to extend Affordable Care Act subsidies, President Donald Trump said he would rather not, but added that an extension might be necessary.

“Somebody said I wanted to extend it for two years," Trump told reporters on Air Force One on Tuesday. "I don't want to extend it for two years. I'd rather not extend them at all. Some kind of an extension may be necessary to get something else done, because the 'unaffordable care act' has been a disaster. It's a disaster, and I said it was when it first got put in."

The issue of extending ACA health care was at the heart of the dispute between Republicans and Democrats on Capitol Hill during the 43-day government shutdown.
