Trump rallies 20,000 supporters ahead of inauguration

Trump is marking his historic political comeback to the White House with a signature "Make America Great Again Victory Rally" in Washington on Sunday, bringing together more than 20,000 supporters to the nation's capital ahead of Inauguration Day.
The rally is being held at Capital One Arena, mirroring the Madison Square Garden rally he held in New York City last October, which served as his closing remarks to American voters a week before Election Day in November.

Trump and Vance place wreaths at Arlington

Trump, Vice President-elect JD Vance and two Gold Star family members paid their respects in a wreath-laying ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at Arlington National Cemetery on Sunday.

As a fine mist fell on attendees, Trump placed the first wreath on a stand before Vance placed the second. A woman placed the third wreath and the final one was laid by a man on crutches who appeared to have lost his right arm and left leg.

Trump's team has draft list of potential Jan. 6 pardons

Trump's team has drafted a list of potential pardons for Jan. 6 defendants to issue on Day 1, sources familiar with the matter say.

The pardons could come very soon after Trump is sworn in. One option that has been discussed is to issue these pardons inside the Capitol, a move that carries some ominous symbolism given the assaults on officers that day by many rioters seeking to overturn the 2020 election.

The plan for these pardons is still very fluid, as Trump himself indicated to ABC News’ Rachel Scott on Saturday, and the extent of the list is not clear.

Trump wouldn't commit to pardons on Day 1, but told Scott they would be coming "very shortly."
