Jenna Dewan's daughter, family cheer her on in 'Dancing with the Stars' debut
Dewan and pro Val Chmerkovskiy performed a fiery tango.
Jenna Dewan’s daughter Everly was cheering her on Wednesday during the second night of the season 35 premiere of "Dancing with the Stars."
"The Rookie" star said her oldest child, now 13, is a big fan of the reality competition series and told "Entertainment Tonight" after her opening night number that Everly was "so proud of us over there and she had literal tears in her eyes."
Dewan and her pro partner, Val Chmerkovskiy, performed a fiery tango to Blondie's 1980 single “Call Me” and earned scores of 6, 6 and 7 from the judges for a total score of 19.
Dewan, a former backup dancer for artists like Janet Jackson and Ricky Martin, also told "E! News" that Everly was a major reason why she ultimately decided to hit the ballroom floor.
"She was a huge reason why I was so excited to do this because she loved the show so much. We came to the finale last year," Dewan said, adding, "She was like, 'Please, Mom, I love this.'"
Dewan and her ex-husband, Channing Tatum, are co-parents of Everly. The actress is also a mom to her younger daughter Rhiannon, 2, and son Callum, now 6, with her fiancé, actor and singer Steve Kazee.
"Dancing with the Stars" airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET on ABC and Disney+ following the two-night premiere. Episodes stream the next day on Hulu.
