Sarah Ferguson is preparing to return to the United Kingdom after months abroad.
A spokesperson for the former Duchess of York has not commented, but ABC News understands she will be moving back to the U.K. soon.
The reported return would mark another change for Ferguson who has largely stayed out of the public spotlight in recent months.
The Sun first reported that Ferguson is returning to Britain and is renting a six-bedroom gated property in the Home Counties, the region surrounding London. Other U.K. outlets have since reported on her expected return.
The BBC reported she had been staying at an alpine chalet in Switzerland in recent months.
Ferguson previously lived at Royal Lodge in Windsor with her ex-husband, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor. Andrew later left Royal Lodge and moved to the Sandringham estate in Norfolk amid public scrutiny over his alleged communications with the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. He has denied all wrongdoing with respect to Epstein.
Ferguson's belongings were reportedly collected from Sandringham this week as she prepares for her new living arrangement.
Ferguson's expected return comes during a notable week for members of the extended royal family.
Prince Harry and Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, arrived back in the U.K. on Wednesday with their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, as the family begins an extended stay in Harry's home country.
The family reportedly landed at Birmingham Airport after traveling from California.
Archie and Lilibet are expected to attend school in Britain beginning in September. Harry and Meghan are not expected to resume their former roles as working members of the royal family.
