As Iran retaliates, largest US military base in Middle East hit by ballistic missile, Qatar says
No one was injured, according to the Qatari Ministry of Defense.
President Donald Trump announced "major combat operations" against Iran on Saturday, with daytime strikes in the joint U.S.-Israel attack targeting military and government sites, officials said.
On Sunday, Iranian state television confirmed that Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was among those killed by airstrikes in Tehran on Saturday.
Iran is responding to the U.S.-Israeli operation with missile and drone attacks targeting Israel, regional U.S. bases and Gulf nations. American diplomatic facilities have also been attacked.
In Lebanon, Israel is intensifying its long-running strike campaign against the Iranian-aligned Hezbollah militia.

IDF claims killing of senior Iranian intelligence officials
The Israel Defense Forces on Monday claimed to have killed several senior Iranian intelligence officials in its opening wave of strikes on Iran on Saturday.
The IDF named Syed Yahya Hamidi -- who it said was the deputy minister of intelligence for Israel affairs -- and Jalal F'or Hussein -- who it named as the head of the Intelligence Ministry’s espionage division.
The IDF said it also killed “a number of other senior officials” alongside Hamidi and Hussein.
2 drones targeting Saudi refinery intercepted, Ministry of Defense says
Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Defense said that two drones targeting the Ras Tanura refinery were intercepted and destroyed.
"The interception operation caused shrapnel to fall near civilian facilities and civilians," the ministry said on social media, adding that "limited fire caused by falling shrapnel during the interception operation, with no civilian injuries."
The refinery, which is run by Saudi Aramco, is in the Eastern Province and is among the country's largest.

Israel carries out 'precise' strike in Beirut, IDF says
The Israeli military carried out a "precise targeted" strike in Beirut, Lebanon, on Monday, an Israel Defense Forces spokesperson said.
The strike was "against a prominent Hezbollah terrorist element," Avichay Adraee, the spokesperson, said in a social media post.
555 people killed by U.S.-Israeli attacks: Iranian Red Crescent Society
At least 555 people have been killed in the U.S.-Israeli strikes on Iran, the Iranian Red Crescent Society said in a statement on Monday.
Attacks have targeted 131 cities across the country, the statement added.
